musicDrake (36 years old) took first place on the famous American Billboard Hot 100 for the thirteenth time. Only Michael Jackson has ever been the only solo artist to achieve this. No one has ever come close to the “King of Pop.”
His single “First Person Shooter”, which the Canadian rapper made with bandmate J. Cole, came in at number one. In the song, Drake accidentally sings about the record he now shares with Jackson. “I’m only one mile away from Michael,” Drake said before quoting Jackson’s 1983 classic “Beat It.”
Some Jackson fans don’t think it’s a fair comparison and react angrily. “Michael Jackson is not an artist from the streaming era, so the data is incorrect,” she said.
The record for the most number of hit songs in America – globally – is held by The Beatles with twenty songs. Mariah Carey has nineteen and Rihanna also has fourteen, so they’re in second and third place. Drake also holds the record for the most songs that have immediately reached number one with nine. With 23 top 3 hits, he is now on par with The Beatles and Mariah Carey.
And there’s more to celebrate for Drake: Thanks to the release of his album “For All The Dogs,” he entered the “Top 10” with no fewer than seven singles, all of which he occupied in the top three. This is the third time he has succeeded. Only the Beatles (five times), Ariana Grande (once), and Taylor Swift (once) have succeeded in doing so in the past.
