A spokesperson for the Utrecht Student Union told the Dutch newspaper: telegraph They have yet to find an explanation for the sudden complaints that occurred in the various students. They are waiting for the investigation and do not wish to speculate. However, the travel organization Bohemian Birds suspects that winter sports enthusiasts have been drugged.
On Tuesday evening, there were the first reports of students falling unwell during an after-ski celebration at the ski village of Risoul in the French Alps. A series of après-ski bars have set up a small festival site at the foot of the ski slope. according to telegraph Five students did well there. The new students fell, shivered violently, had fits of laughter and tears, rolled their eyes, and vomited. There was also short-term memory loss. Three skaters were taken to hospital.
The council took action immediately. Additional security guards were posted to the party venue and bar staff only served drinks in lockable cups. but to no avail. Four students suffered, on Wednesday evening, similar complaints. Two of them ended up in the hospital. It concerns both men and women.
The travel organization says the atmosphere in the village has become tense. There will be distrust in the bar staff, security and other vacationers. Student associations decided to go home, because safety could no longer be guaranteed. Two buses have already left on Thursday, and the rest will follow on Friday. It was originally scheduled to return on Saturday. The nine affected students are now feeling healthy again.
