The whole month of June is “autosalon” in Wijnegem. Several major manufacturers have introduced their latest electric powered models. No less than eighteen different species can be enjoyed, spread across six booths on the ground floor and first floor.
“Never before have we had so many recordings as this year for our purely electric version,” says Wijnegem spokesperson Zsofi Horvath. “Our visitors can see all the models up close and compare them with each other, all under one roof.”
Tesla but also Opel
The following models are on display: Tesla Model Y Performance, Cupra Born, Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, MG Marvel R, MG 5 Luxury, Polestar 2, Ford Mustang Mach E, Hyundai Tucson 1.6 T-GDI, Opel Astra Elegance, Opel Grandland and Ford Puma, Volvo C40, Volkswagen ID3, Volkswagen ID 5, Scoda Enyaq iV, Kia Picanto, Kia Sportage, Kia EV6.
“Electric cars are very popular, but often there are still a lot of questions about this way of driving,” Horvath tests after the first few days. “That is why it is good to know that the stands are inhabited on certain days and that visitors can contact representatives of the brands with their questions. It is also possible to test drive some cars on site, although of course not in the shopping center itself.”
One year free driving test
Wijnegem is going one step further this year and is even giving away an electric car through a competition, to use for free for one year. To make it as convenient as possible for the winner, a free charging station will also be installed in the house of fortune. This promotion is a collaboration between Wijnegem, Auto Natie and EDI.
Zsofi Horvath: “The ID of the Volkswagen 3 in question is shown here as well. Our visitors can enjoy the drive at the fountain on the ground floor, near Inkom 3. The competition will be launched soon, including via our social media.” (yes)
The Electric Car Show runs until June 25 at Wijnegem Shopping Centre. More information about the auto show
