Entertainment entrepreneur Stefan Vives is on the cusp of a new paradigm shift with Ice Mountain

Come on – the popular Ice Mountain theme park and restaurants have been given the green light by local authorities to expand activities on its site. The current site covers about 5 hectares. In the vicinity, the dynamic businessman Stefan Vives (from Menin) bought 6 hectares several years ago, land that is currently still fallow. “Now that the licensing procedures for developing new activities have been completed, a lot of thought is being given to a meaningful new use,” said Nick Dubois on behalf of Ice Mountain. “It could go either way, but we are thinking primarily about summer outdoor activities, so we can offer an all-season concept at Komen.”

Stefan Vives started his big entrepreneurial dream in the entertainment sector in 1999. The Ice Mountain indoor ski slope proved to be a huge success from the beginning. He also linked a thriving catering business, as well as a paintball field and indoor skydiving. Every year, around 350,000 visitors find their way to the ski temple, and due to its excellent location, these visitors come from all directions (West Flanders, Northern France, Wallonia). Around this time, the whole team is brainstorming about expanding the site in Komen, where a major investment is planned anyway.

In recent years, Fives has quietly expanded its activities beyond Komen. This is how he became one hundred percent owner of the Jungle City children's park in Tournai. The dynamic company Fievez has also opened the Wiplay multi-amusement park near Utrecht. Elsewhere in the Netherlands (most likely Breda) there will also be a second Wiplay.
