Doctor. Peter van Pal has been appointed Professor of Public Health Economics at the Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management (ESHPM). With the creation of this new chair, ESHPM is providing an important impetus to research in health economics, with a particular focus on the public sphere. The chair will be based in the Health Economics Division of ESHPM. This was reported by Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Doctor. Peter van Ball studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and obtained his doctorate from the same university at Erasmus Law School. He is currently the Director of Research at ESHPM. Previously, he worked at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (Netherlands Institute for Public Health and the Environment).RIVM).

His research focuses on the methodology of economic evaluations in health care and the development of simulation models that describe the relationship between risk factors, disease, public health, and use of care. His research has made an important contribution to the Dutch guidelines for economic assessments in health care.
