Even Remco Evenepoel can't escape questions about its Sporza bike manager. The Belgian champion admits that he has not yet formed a team, but he goes along with Renate Schot's thought exercise without hesitation. “Will I take myself? I will, yes,” Evenepoel laughs.
The Sporza Cycling Manager tradition is respected at Soudal – Quick Step.
At least by the majority of classic riders. Remco Evenepoel has to admit he hasn't made his choice yet.
“But I still have free time this afternoon,” he opened the door slightly. “So maybe I can think about it then.”
Evenpoel did not think long whether to take it himself: “I will, yes.”
I would also like to add Julian Alaphilippe. He's had a good winter.
Remco Evenepoel
A team containing only Remco Evenpoels will do well in the Walloon Classics. Unfortunately for the Belgian champion, this is not necessary.
Who can take a seat in your team for Flemish Action?
“What I spontaneously think of: Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel, anyway,” shares Evenepoel. “These are the certainties of spring.”
This was followed by a golden tip (?): “I would also add Julian Alaphilippe. He had a good winter. Mads Pedersen will also do well this year.”
The result is an all-star team. One and it's expensive. “I know,” laughs the Shepdale man. “But you'll win prizes with it.”
