Fabio Silva has been absent from Anderlecht’s squad in recent matches and the Portuguese’s departure seemed just a matter of time. Now the attacker has made himself official with a message on Instagram.
Silva began “I am very grateful to this beautiful club and the fans. They believed in me when many people doubted me”. He was loaned to Anderlecht this summer by his English club, Wolverhampton.
Silva is also full of praise for his teammates. “Thank you for all the support and for all the beautiful moments on and off the field. True friendships have emerged.”
“Everyone here has made sure that I am happy again. And that I can do what I love most. Thank you for helping me grow as a person and as a player.”
He concluded, “To the wonderful fans: you have supported me and the team, even if the results were not always what we had hoped. I am now also a fan of this great club, which is without a doubt the greatest club in Belgium.”
Silva is linked with PSV in the Netherlands and an official announcement won’t be long in coming. In total, Silva played 32 matches for Anderlecht. Scored 11 goals.
