Dutch smartphone maker Fairphone will sell devices outside of Europe, specifically in Taiwan. It says it’s the first time Fairphone has sold devices outside of Europe, though the company won’t have any plans to expand further.
Fairphone has been working with teams in Taiwan for several years; The company’s smartphones are developed there and it has an office. This is why CEO Eva Goins says, “After several years of developing devices in Taiwan, Fairphone is making its latest device available to Taiwanese consumers.” She continues: “As a first step into a market outside of Europe, it’s a good place to start in the country where our phones are developed and where we have an office.”
Dutch company Fairphone was founded in 2013 and strives to produce smartphones as sustainably as possible.
