Kylian Mbappe has finally announced what everyone already knew: that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain after this season. He said in a farewell video on social media that it was an emotional decision.
Kylian Mbappé addresses football fans in an almost presidential manner in his farewell message to Paris Saint-Germain.
His message is not surprising: “I will not renew my contract. My adventure here will end in a few weeks. Sunday (at home against Toulouse, ed.) will be my last match at the Parc des Princes.” “
“It’s hard to say this, but it’s time to leave my country. I need this. A new challenge.”
Mbappe speaks with his heart on his sleeve, with almost no direction. “A lot of emotions arise. Here I developed as a player. Here I was able to play alongside the best players in history.”
“Here too I grew as a man. I experienced glory and mistakes.”
I wasn’t always up to the love you gave me for 7 years.

He also emphasizes the latter when he thanks the Paris Saint-Germain fans. “I haven’t always been honest with my feelings. I haven’t always lived up to the love you gave me 7 years ago.”
“But I never wanted to be fake. Paris Saint-Germain is a club that leaves no one untouched. You either hate the club or you love it. I chose to love it. With highs and lows.”
“But I have never regretted signing here. I will say all my life that I was lucky to play for this club. I will also continue to watch all of PSG’s matches.”
Then Mbappe repeats again: “This was me. With my flaws and qualities. I tried to be the best version of myself.”
“Without you (the fans) I would only experience half the emotions I’m experiencing now. And for that I am forever grateful.”
Now it’s only a matter of time before a new video shows Mbappe’s new destination. All the stars seem to point to Real Madrid.
“Subtly charming internet specialist. Avid writer. Friendly alcohol guru. Music ninja. Devoted social media fanatic.”
