Four killed in Virginia private plane crash: Pilot seen ‘fall’ in cockpit | outside

to updateFour passengers on a private jet have died after the pilot likely fell ill over Washington. And the US authorities confirmed this. The plane did not respond to air traffic controllers’ questions, so two fighter jets were deployed to get a closer look. The plane eventually crashes into a mountain range.

The two jet fighters caused a huge sonic boom over Washington DC yesterday. Shortly after 8 p.m., the crashed plane was found in a mountainous area in Virginia, about 170 miles away. “No survivors have been found,” emergency services said.

The fighter jets were deployed because the pilot of a Cessna 560 Citation V failed to respond when flying over Washington. The sound of fighter jets, which can be heard as far away as Washington, has sparked much speculation on social media.

She fell

The Washington Post reported that the pilot of one of those fighter jets saw the Cessna pilot go down before the plane crashed, possibly due to a loss of pressure. Losing pressure at high altitude, the occupants of the plane can quickly lose consciousness.

Aviation experts also suspect that hypoxia (lack of oxygen in the cabin; ed.) has become fatal for passengers. “It can be very insidious. You might start to feel tingling and even feel euphoric. After that, you gradually lose consciousness,” Steve Janyard told ABC News.

The American media write that experts believe, based on public information, that the plane flew on autopilot until it ran out of fuel and then crashed. According to the US authorities, the accident was not caused by combat aircraft,

The aircraft was registered to the John Rampell Company. His wife, Barbara, confirmed in a heartwarming Facebook message that their daughter (49) and granddaughter (2) were on the ship. In addition to the pilot, the babysitter also died.

Note: John and Barbara also lost their daughter Victoria (age 19) in a diving accident in 1994.

According to the flight data, the plane departed from Elizabethton (Tennessee) to Long Island (New York). But in fact, the plane flew further south, over Washington and Virginia. The US Capitol and nearby buildings in Washington were put on high alert for a brief period.
