The far-right French presidential candidate, Eric Zemmour, defended his idea of creating a Ministry of Immigration during a press conference. With this idea, Zemmour wants to expel the “immigrants we no longer want.” This relates in particular to delinquents, criminals or persons affiliated with State Security (“Paper S”). According to Zemmour, “return” is not a sign of “radical”, but rather a sign of “determination.”
Re-migration refers to the return – forced or voluntary – of migrants to their countries of origin. “100,000 people can be turned back every year. It’s about bringing back people we don’t want anymore. If someone comes to your house and destroys everything and attacks you, you send this,” said the presidential candidate after campaigning at the Aulnay-sous-Bois market, near Paris. The person is away and you go home.” We should not be afraid of words that frighten a small group of people (journalists). “No radicalism, just a determination I want to strengthen,” said the presidential candidate.
National Assembly
Zemmour also said voters think like him, including “National Rally” voters of Marine Le Pen, another far-right candidate in opinion polls who finished second on the ballot. According to Zemmour, RN voters feel that Le Pen has denied the core ideas of her party. “They also want France to remain France,” he said.
Le Pen herself said during an election campaign that she “doesn’t feel anything” about the idea. Zemmour “adopts this concept, perhaps because the election conditions are not as promising as he had hoped.” Zemmour, for example, has about 10 percent in the polls. The candidate does not want to create a similar ministry, but wants to deport the same categories of immigrants as Zemmour.
