Good Officially Confirms: The Flash Delivery Company is withdrawing from the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. The grocery service will now focus on Turkey's home market.
You can still order
It's been up in the air for a while, but now it's confirmed: Gethir is folding again and Exiting all remaining European markets. The Flash Delivery service is also leaving the US. However, Fresh Direct, the New York online supermarket that Gettir acquired from Ahold Delhaize late last year, will remain.
The Turkish company was urgently looking for funding, and has also found it from Arab investment firm Mubadala and Swiss G Square, but from now on it will focus on the Turkish housing market. The company says it is in a better position to further scale up its delivery service. Better exit markets accounted for 7% of revenue, but they were massively loss-making.
This leaves Flink as the only flash delivery company in the Netherlands, although “customers can continue to place orders in the coming weeks,” a Gettir spokesperson told De Telegraaf. Delivery service staff were informed today. The service is still available in eight Dutch cities today.
