Famous PeopleJenna Ortega, 20, the lead actress in the Netflix series “Wednesday,” shared on her Instagram account Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday Addams. On Monday, it was announced that the 64-year-old actress had died of a severe stroke.
Ortega posted on her social media a black and white photo of young Lisa Loring in her character’s complexion on Wednesday. Jenna captioned the photo: “I’m really devastated. Thanks for everything.” Loring was the first actress to play the iconic character. The actress played Wednesday Addams for over two years, from 1964 to 1966, in about 64 episodes.
This Loring had a major impact on the current Wednesday, Addams became evident in the Netflix series “Wednesday”. In Jenna Ortega’s dance scene, for example, a big wink towards Lisa Loring is incorporated. The 20-year-old actress created her own version of some of Loring’s dance moves.

Her daughter, Vanessa Fomberg, confirmed the news of Lisa Loring’s death. “She passed away peacefully in the presence of her two daughters,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Loring died after suffering a massive stroke. She was on a ventilator for three days. In the end, her family made a difficult decision and decided it was time to let her go,” said Laurie Jacobson, a close friend of the actress. “In our hearts we will always remember her as Wednesday Addams.”
