This global collaboration resulted in the unveiling of 100 numbered sets, each consisting of a custom laser-etched GG-patterned Xbox Controller, and two Xbox Wireless Controllers in carbon black with a red and blue Gucci web strap, complete with a hard case inspired by briefcases. Gucci Archive. The case is covered in the famous beige Gucci Supreme fabric, with gold-tone clasps and a yellow leather trim. Spinning around it is a red and blue web bar, while “XBOX” is written on the lid in the brand’s signature green, a shade familiar to Xbox gamers. The color itself is reflected in the efficiently arranged interior, which houses the console and controls. At the bottom of the box are the words “GOOD GAME” in yellow.
The logo suggests the happy coincidence that GG is not only a popular motif in Gucci’s decorative vocabulary – derived from the name of Guccio Gucci, who founded the home in Florence in 1921 – but also the abbreviation of this formula, which became a sport used during play.
