Vogue Business reports that Gucci will begin accepting cryptocurrencies at brick and mortar stores in the United States from this summer. Customers can pay with cryptocurrencies from the end of this month. Thereafter, the plan is to expand this to all brand brick stores in the United States by the end of the summer.
Payment can be made through the QR code found in the customer’s email. The QR code can be linked to a digital crypto wallet. Various types of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu are accepted. Also, the ‘meme crypto’, originally jokingly called ‘Dogecoin’, was considered the perfect way to make payments on Vogue Business shares.
The announcement comes after Kering, a fashion group that is part of Gucci, released last week. Has appointed a former Google administrator as a new team memberÇ Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault also shared this decision-making meeting, Kering is currently exploring how they can implement metaverse in their strategy.
The first stores to accept crypto fees will be in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
