Lewis Hamilton sent shockwaves through Formula 1 earlier this week, announcing that he will drive for Ferrari from 2025. It's an exciting move and it looks like Hamilton could command a big payday at Ferrari.
Mercedes announced on Thursday that Hamilton will leave the team after next season. Ferrari then announced that Hamilton would drive for them from 2025 and that he had signed a multi-year contract. According to established Italian outlet Formu1a.Uno, Hamilton could earn a huge sum of money. It is reported that Hamilton could earn around $100 million annually through his salary, sponsorship deals, image rights and bonuses.
According to Formu1a.Uno, Ferrari has been working hard on the transfer. According to the media, Hamilton's transfer came at the request of Ferrari president John Elkann. After Mattia Binotto's departure, Elkann began creating his own Ferrari, according to the broker. The arrival of team president Frédéric Vasseur played an important role in this, as did the contract extension of Charles Leclerc. It is also reported that Elkann will ensure Hamilton's fight for diversity and inclusion is also implemented at Ferrari.
