Hans Vanaken is perhaps the most consistent player in our league. He was awarded the Golden Shoe in 2018 and 2019. Everyone wonders aloud when he will take this step even higher.
Earlier, his father had already talked about the possibility of his transfer HLN Sportscast: “Maybe this hunger is there, but then all the pieces of the puzzle have to fit together. The chance of winning prizes is in any case a very important factor for Hans.”
West Ham had previously been interested in the Club Brugge playmaker, but a transfer was not imminent. Then the Hammers did not compete for trophies, but had to fight relegation. Maybe it was something in between.
West Ham are doing much better this season. They advanced to the next round in the European League and fourth place in the English Premier League. They also knocked Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup and are now in the quarter-finals.
If West Ham continue to maintain this level and manage to win an award, Vanaken’s move to London is suddenly a possibility.
