Granit Xhaka will play in the Bundesliga again this season. Seven years after Arsenal took over from Borussia Monchengladbach, the Swiss midfielder is returning to the Bundesliga as a player from Bayer Leverkusen.
When Leverkusen posted an excerpt from the Apollo 13 movie on Twitter, fans knew enough. Xhaka is known for his long, rocket-like shot and free kick and is now allowed to show it off in service of a new employer. He signs a five-year contract with the club where Mitchell Packer, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Jeremy Frimpong (still) play. Bakker and Frimpong in particular appear to be on their way out in Leverkusen.

For Xhaka, a seven-year term in London ends. The midfielder was beloved for his powerful play and stunning goals, but it wasn’t all good for us in the English capital. Xhaka received an unnecessary red card several times and lost his captaincy after fan issues.
Xhaka was whistled after his draw with Crystal Palace in 2019 and the Swiss responded with the necessary gestures. Then manager Unai Emery decided to change the team captain, but Xhaka continued to get his playing time. In the end he won four trophies with Arsenal.
With the departure of Xhaka, who is said to be worth around €25m, a place in midfield will be available. It’s an open secret artillery They are working on a record deal for Declan Rice from West Ham United.
