To prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently sent more than 100,000 soldiers to the border region. The West fears an invasion, and Russia denies this and claims to have withdrawn some of its forces. However, neither Ukraine nor the United States nor NATO see any signs of a real Russian withdrawal.
