GGD Hollands Midden will open two new HPV vaccination sites on Thursday. Students and non-students are vaccinated for free at the Hogeschool Leiden on Zernikedreef and at the Plexus Student Center at Leiden University on Kaiserstraat.
The HPV vaccination is for everyone between the ages of 19 and 27 who has not been (fully) vaccinated against HPV. This virus can cause cancer of the mouth, throat, anus, penis, vagina, labia, and cervix. This year only, the HPV vaccination is free for young people born between 1996 and 2003.

The temporary vaccination site at Plexus is open until June 22nd, the site at Hogeschool until June 29th. “We hope that many young people will come to get the HPV vaccine,” says Margaret Bekedam, director of immunization at GGD. “Time is running out. The HPV vaccination consists of two injections with a minimum interval of five months between them. Those who get the first injection before the summer holidays can also get the second injection for free this year. After 2023, the costs of the HPV vaccination will be Human papilloma of this freelance group.

Leiden University of Applied Sciences Zernekdriv 11: Thursday 11 and 25 May, 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 June from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Pigtail Student Center / Leiden University, Kaiserstraat 25: Thursday 11th and 25th May, 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd June from 5.30pm to 8pm.
