Last week, a woman was killed at an amusement park in Kloten, Germany after falling from a moving roller coaster. Her daughter tried to hold on to the woman, but she couldn’t stop the drama.
The drama took place on a 532-meter rollercoaster at Kloten Amusement Park, also known as Klotepark. Ilonka, 57, from Saarland was sitting on a roller coaster when she threatened to fall off it. Her daughter tried to get the woman pregnant, but she couldn’t. It fell to a depth of eight meters in a hard-to-reach place in the garden. The woman’s husband immediately ran to the place where his wife had fallen. Crawl over the fence and try to help her. Emergency services also tried to resuscitate the woman, but it was unsuccessful. The woman died instantly.
The woman comes from a village of no more than 10,000 people and the whole community is shocked. “Ilonka was the nicest person I knew. You could always get anything from her and she was always in a good mood,” says her neighbor.
It is still not clear how a woman could fall off the roller coaster. The amusement park has been closed for a few days so the police can take notes. In the meantime, the park has reopened.
