Instagram has added an interesting new feature to its app. Users now have the opportunity to download reels posted by others.
TikTok has been giving users the ability to download videos for several years now. It contains a TikTok watermark. As this watermark was often seen on other apps as a result, more and more people quickly got to know TikTok. So this possibility could have contributed to the huge popularity of the app.

Meanwhile, YouTube has also added a download function for Short. As a result, Instagram is no longer lagging behind. CEO Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday that users from the US can now also download Reels. that reports Techcrunch. Later this feature is likely to come to all users.
To download a file, do the following:
- Open the video you want to download.
- Click the share icon (arrow) at the bottom right.
- You will see a download button at the bottom of the screen.
- The video is now in your videos on your smartphone.
If you do not see this button in Instagram, you can check if you have the latest version of the application on your smartphone. If that is the case, you will just have to be patient for the feature to be available here as well. Anyway, downloading only works with public reels.
Mosseri did not specify if the reels downloaded from Instagram will have a watermark. You can see that in the examples he shared. It’s a small Instagram logo with the name of the account the video below is coming from.
“Thinker. Coffeeaholic. Award-winning gamer. Web trailblazer. Pop culture scholar. Beer guru. Food specialist.”
