In their first summer as a divorced couple, Prince Charles and Princess Diana are enjoying very different vacations with their children. The Fayeds court Diana in the south of France, while Charles remains true to tradition at Balmoral. The comparisons are widely covered in the media and fueled by fanatical paparazzi.
With life on yachts and the constant media attention losing their magic, Diana misses her children, who are now back at Balmoral. The detour to Paris causes matters to escalate amid intense media prosecution.
After news spread of the fatal car accident involving Diana and Dodi, the Queen was overcome by deep public grief. As a wave of dread sweeps the palace, Al Fayed also deals with the loss of his son. He hopes this news will reunite him with the royal family, but instead he is increasingly shunned.
The cast includes Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West, who reprise their roles as Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Imelda Staunton returns as Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip) and Lesley Manville (Princess Margaret). Salem Daw (Mohamed Al-Fayed) and Khaled Abdullah (Dudi Al-Fayed) also return. Newcomers Rufus Campa (Prince William) and Flynn Edwards (Prince Harry) make their promising entrances. The sequel stars Ed McPhee and Luther Ford as Prince William and Prince Harry. Meg Bellamy plays Kate Middleton.
