The European Championships are now in full swing. So everyone has an opinion sometimes. This also applies to Jan Mulder. He saw Domenico Tedesco make some mistakes in his selection: “Why wasn’t Brandon Michel called up?”
Domenico Tedesco eventually called up 25 players for the European Championship and then Thomas Meunier was also injured. He may still be fit at the end of the group stage, but bringing in an extra player certainly wasn’t an unnecessary luxury.
Jan Mulder thinks so too. He believes Domenico Tedesco should definitely have been called in as an extra defender. He already announced this in a conversation with latest newsHe answered a number of difficult topics.
“He should have called in an extra defender! I miss Toby Alderweireld a bit and actually Michel should have been there,” Jan Mulder doesn’t want to mince words in the Q&A. According to him, Michele has been greatly underestimated.
Michel had to come
“I think he’s a popular player, but he’s always overlooked. He’s a very good player! Champion with Brugge, call him!”, his opinion is clear. In the end, this did not happen in the European Championship.
Would the Red Devils have scored points with him in their European Championship opener against Slovakia? This is another matter again. But if it had depended on Mulder, Michel would be right there in Germany right now.
