MovieA new career path for Jan Smit (35 years old): The singer will produce an animated film based on his children’s series “2 Kleine Kleutertjes”. Actress Chantal Janzen and rapper Ronnie Flex will be among the other voices. A daughter named Emma also has a small role.
Jan Smit Records announced that the movie, titled A Day to Remember, is based on the popular cartoon with songs, books and theatrical performances.
“Ten years ago, I got the idea for ‘2 Kleine Kleutertjes’ and I’m very proud that we will be releasing our first 3D Dutch animated films early next year,” the singer says. For the movie, young children are given a character and a name for the first time.

Sounds were recorded by Smit, Chantal Janzen, Waylon, Simone Kleinsma and Ronnie Flex. A daughter named Emma can also be heard in the movie. “This is the most special thing,” he says. “I hope everyone can rehearse the songs from tomorrow, so we can all sing them at the cinema in February.”
The film can be seen in Dutch cinemas starting February 16. It is not yet known whether the print edition will also appear in our country.
