Football analyst Jan Boskamp, a well-known face on Dutch television, has announced that he will end his television career. Boskamp, 75, revealed to De Telegraaf that he will end his career on June 1, the day of the Champions League final at Wembley.
“It’s been amazing,” Boskamp says of his media career. “When I get out of bed, it feels like everything is cracking up. My body is 75 years old, but sometimes I feel as if I’m already a few years old.”
Boskamp recently had a serious health scare. “I’m glad I survived in intensive care. Some people around me wondered why they had to leave so early. Then I looked at their photos and thought: I would gladly trade places with them.”
Boskamp also resigned due to his health. “Watching and talking about football is still mundane. I’m having a great time, but I would hate those long car journeys. I’ve been offered my own driver, but I’m not in the mood for that.” In any case.”
