Julia is flying in the air and Hans’ baby Julian is taking a nap Backstage: this is the new K3 show “Vleugels” | music

“We’re going to do really cool things.” K3 had already promised him on the eve of Vleugels’ new tour, and put the words into practice at the premiere in Capitole Ghent. While Han, 28, and Marth, 26, were diving like puppets from life-size parachutes, Julia, 20, was catapulted into the air by two dancers as they descended. “Fortunately, it went well,” she says. “Now 99 shows to go!” For Hanne, this is the first outing after becoming Julien’s mom.

We had barely been able to practice together for three weeks after Hanne returned from maternity leave. “We’ve never had so little time to get ready before and I was a little nervous about it,” Hanne admits. “But Julian let me sleep well last night (laughs). And Marthy and Julia had already put the show back together with the team so well before I came back that it worked. Great to see all these happy kids again.” The “Vleugels” tour headline is out and no cat can notice that the preparation time has been so tight. Not a single mistake, not a single bump in the words or the choreography: perfection down to the last detail. And more magical than usual. In a huge book of fairy tales, one story after another appeared. From “Sleeping Beauty” to “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Three Little Pigs”. “Our favorite combination on the show,” says Marthe. Whether it is also a hint of the future, and there will be new K3 music? “We can’t say anything about it, but we definitely asked to have that musical part included in this. We think that’s cool,” the ladies say.

Tomorrowland for children

In one moment they deliver a moment of chilling as puppets in life-size flowers on “Umbrellas” – from the new CD “Vleugels” – Hanne, Marthe and Julia give a dazzling laser show a little later. Tomorrowland for children, but in Capitole Ghent. “You don’t want to know how much time we spent practicing those blocks to work with those lasers, that was really exciting. But the result is really amazing,” says Julia. For her, the “Vleugels” are really the second round, and she’s been allowed Immediately by going into the air. In the dance routine, two dancers toss her into the air as she twirled. She laughs, “We told you very special things were going to happen, right.” “Luckily everything went as it was rehearsed, rehearse!” Hundreds of shows between now and June.” Three shows a day. Julia says there is even a month planned with more than fifty performances. “If we survive that, we can do anything with three,” Hanne laughs. “Luckily we get more rest during the week, we really paid attention to that,” says Marthe.

Welcome days off are also for Hanne and her new family. She has been back at work for three weeks and baby Julian is going to daycare. “And that’s going well,” Hanne says. The fact that Julian is such an easy kid helps with everything, of course. He eats and sleeps well, and only cries when he needs something. Today, he took a nap backstage with the premiere. He’s been in the room for a while. I haven’t heard him cry or anything ( He laughs) “.

I offer gold

With Vleugels, K3 is still touring Hasselt, Antwerp, Ostend and the Netherlands. In the summer, the ladies will also give two concerts at the Proximus Pop-Up Arena in Middelkerke, especially for their peers and the generation that has grown up with Karen, Kristel, Kathleen and Josje. “Then we’ll be on stage with a live band and really perform the entire repertoire. All the old gold nuggets can then be taken out of the closet,” they say. So far in the “Vleugels” show, the repertoire from the early years is more interesting than usual. “Obviously we’re celebrating K3’s 25th anniversary this year. But also because we love those songs from the past. We always insist on doing as much as possible,” says Hanne. “It’s funny when you realize I wasn’t even born when ‘Hippie shake’ and ‘Yippee yippee’ were hit,” laughs Julia.

BVs spotted

Many familiar faces with their offspring at the premiere in Ghent. “Those are my children. No, just kidding,” laughs Leinert Korevitz of CD Puppets. I bring my two daughters, Otto Jan Hamm, Dolores and Philippa.
