Kanye West has now also formally petitioned the California Supreme Court to change his name. The 44-year-old rapper and producer wants to live the life of “Ye” from now on, without a name or title.
The application was actually signed on August 11, but was not submitted to the judicial authorities until Tuesday. Kanye Omari West (as his official name) states that the change request is due to “personal reasons”. The judge still has to agree to this request before the name change becomes official.
In 2018, the rapper actually changed his name on Twitter to Ye, which followed the release of his album of the same name. He then tweeted, “The creature officially known as Kanye West. I’m yes. In addition to being an acronym for his name, it’s also a word that appears frequently in the Bible,” he said in interviews.

West is expected to release his 10th studio album at the end of this month Donda release. An official release date has yet to be announced, having pushed it twice already. He actually provided music during “Donda Hearings”. Earlier this month, he also shared a list of artists who worked on recording. Jay-Z, The Weeknd, and Jay Electronica will be featured on the record, among others.
