The oldest king in Europe

Harald has now been King of Norway for 33 years and has no intention of abdicating. He said firmly: “I stick to what I have always said: I took an oath before Parliament and it lasts for life.” Then a journalist asked him if he was affected by the radical decision of his Danish colleague Margaret, saying: “I will continue.” “To the bitter end,” he said immediately. “There is truth in the slogan ‘The king is dead, long live the king,’” he wrote in a book a few years ago.
