Like you earlier today can already read There was a strong hint of Kingdom Hearts 4 during the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebrations today. Fortunately, after the special event, Square Enix also posted a video on its official channels today featuring a number of new announcements, including Kingdom Hearts 4.
It seems too early to say a release date, but the trailer gives an idea of what we can expect from the next installment in the popular franchise. In the trailer we see Sora in Quadratum, “Unreal”. In the Quadratum, he was greeted by Strelitzia, a character we had previously only seen in the smartphone game Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]†
The world of Quadratum looks very similar to our modern world, and is clearly based on contemporary Tokyo. Heartless is here too, so we see a giant Darkside Heartless that, among other things, hurls cars into the air. It looks like a lot of Final Fantasy and a lot of Disney, but don’t worry because the heroes Donald and Goofy will be back too.
You can watch the new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer below. The release date has yet to be announced, as well as the platforms on which the game will be launched, but the 20th anniversary celebrations are just beginning, so we can expect more news this year.
