Acoustics
Because they are installed in one piece (and therefore open on all sides and absorb sound), ceiling islands have a greater sound-absorbing surface than traditional ceiling solutions.

Ceiling islands are available in different materials from the Knauf Roofing Solutions range. All ceiling islands can be hung individually or in groups and are available in Variodesign colours. Using Knauf Ceiling’s unique suspension system, all islands and partitions can be combined with each other, regardless of shape and type of material.

Metallic acoustic element
It is a frameless ceiling island with wool and color overlay on the visible side and edges. It has a thickness of 40 mm and is available in the following versions:

Mineral Sonic Line
It is a ceiling island with an aluminum frame. Available in white wool as standard with a board thickness of 43mm. Available in dimensions:

MINERAL SONIC ARC LINE
It is a curved ceiling island with an aluminum frame and is available in a concave or convex version. The thickness of the plate is 35 mm and is available in the following dimensions:

Metallic sound element
Rectangular metal ceiling island, which can also be installed as a wall solution.
It is fully configurable and available as

• 90° – 50° – 20 x 20mm edge finish.
• Plate thickness: 40 mm
• Panel length: 600 – 1800 mm
• Panel width: 600 – 1200 mm

This type of island is also available in an expanded metal version MESH Sonic Element MT.

Metal acoustic element bracket
The curved ceiling island is available in a concave or convex design. The visible sides feature micro-perforation for a seamless look, while a standard perforation on the back of the panel provides better sound absorption. Available in standard dimensions:

• Concave: 1890 x 1181 x 40 mm
• Convex: 1890 x 1181 x 40 mm

A metal clip or hook for the sky element
These are modular acoustic ceiling islands consisting of rectangular metal panels that are attached (=clip) or suspended (=hook). Modular construction provides maximum flexibility. In addition to the matching suspension system, it also allows installation with minimal hanging height, without the need for additional technical work.
Available in:

• Panel length: 600 – 2500 mm
• Panel width: 250 – 600 mm
• Maximum size 1.5 m²

Wood wool – HERADESIGN®

HERADESIGN® Audio Element
It is a frameless ceiling island made of wood wool with an ultra-smooth finish. (Fiber thickness 1 mm) It has a thickness of 35 mm and is available in the following versions:

• HERADESIGN® Acoustic Element Circle: 1200 mm diameter
• HERADESIGN® Sonic Element Square: 1200 x 1200 mm
• HERADESIGN® Sonic Element Hexagon: 1200 x 1040 mm

HERADESIGN® Sonic Element Plus
It is a frameless roof island consisting of rectangular wood wool panels with a smooth or ultra-fine surface structure. The panels edge finish is AK01. The island has an integrated raised edge with a height of 125 mm. It has a thickness of 25 mm and is available in the following versions:

• 1200 x 1200 mm
• 2400 x 1200 mm

HERADESIGN® Sky Element
It is a frameless modular roof island consisting of rectangular panels and corner pieces made of wood wool. Available in Fine, Fine A2, Superfine or Superfine A2 surface construction. The panels edge finish is AK01. The island has an integrated raised edge with a height of 125 mm. Thickness is 25mm and parts are available in:

• Corner piece: 600 x 600 x 125mm; Corner piece: 1200 x 600 x 125 mm

Heradizine® Skyline
It is a ceiling island with an anodized edge. The island is available with Macro, Fine, Fine A2, Superfine, Superfine A2, Micro and Plano surface structures.
It is fully configurable and available in AK01, GK or AK-02/5 edge finishes.
