MovieKristen Stewart, 31, was so nervous to play Princess Diana in the new movie ‘Spencer’ that she couldn’t separate her jaw two weeks before the shooting. This tells the American actress to BBC News.
Stewart admits she suffered from TMJ disorder, a temporary stress disorder that restricts jaw movement. “I was like, ‘Well, I guess I’m really nervous. “I really struggled at the beginning of filming,” he said frankly. Thanks to director Pablo Larren, it turned out so well, I asked Stewart to “relax and believe in the process and in its preparation.”
Prior to the film, Stewart did not know much about the British princess who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997. “I didn’t have a good knowledge of this royal family,” she continues. “I’m not created with these kinds of stories.” To prepare, she rewatched interviews, read books, and watched The Crown on Netflix. “I tried to take it as frankly and generally as possible and then trust Diana to come to me naturally.”
The Spencer movie, which premieres with us at Film Fest Gent on October 14, focuses on the three days around Christmas that Princess Diana spent with the British royal family in 1991. It’s the last Christmas period before her divorce from Prince Charles.
