Rare in France. Star Kylian Mbappe appeared in the national team’s press conference today. At first the talk was about the European Championship, but it quickly turned to his dream move and the turbulent last year in Paris: “Some people and things made me unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, but as a captain you cannot show that.”
Even before the first question, Kylian Mbappe has already spoken at the French national team’s press conference this afternoon.
“I am very proud that I have finally been able to sign for the club I have always dreamed of,” he said, referring to his best transfer. “But I am here as captain of the French national team, so I only answer questions related to our selection.”
Hope in vain, as it turned out. Because it is not the European Championship or the French national team, but his move to Real Madrid and the difficult year at Paris Saint-Germain that were the talking points in the press chat.
“Everyone knows why I played less at the end of the season,” he said. But at the same time, the French star has long been happy that he can still log minutes this season.
I thought I wouldn’t step on the field this season.

Mbappe said: “Before the season at Paris Saint-Germain, they told me harshly that I would not play anymore. They said that to my face.”
“I would also like to thank Luis Enrique (coach, editor) and Luis Campos (adviser, editor). They saved me. I thought I would never step on the field again.”
He added: “Because of the whole situation, my ambition was also different this year. The level was lower, but next season I will not be satisfied with such a season.”
Despite this latest statement, the speedy striker has seemed very satisfied with his final year. “From the moment I stepped on the field, my season was truly successful.”
“I’m more proud of this season because I know what I had to go through to be able to play. In terms of performance it was a little lower by my standards, but I think it was the best season of my career.”
24 years is too many
A year full of mixed emotions for the star who is still only 25 years old. But he certainly doesn’t want to fire PSG.
He added, “I owe a lot to the club. Last year there were some people and things that made me unhappy, but as a leader you cannot show that.”
“It would be ugly to say now that I wasn’t really happy, but some things were going wrong.”
The European Championship is a more difficult tournament than the World Cup.

Now Mbappe is fully focused on the European Championship. “I want to help my country reach as far as possible,” he said.
“Although the European Championship is a more difficult tournament than the World Cup, all the teams know each other and the playing style is often very close to each other. So it will be difficult starting from the group stage.”
However, Mbappe wants to return his country to football heaven once again. He added, “People have been waiting here for 24 years for another European Championship victory. This is a lot for a country like ours.”
The opposition has already been warned.
