The Lenovo ThinkVision 27 3D Display can simulate 3D effects without having to wear glasses. On sale from the beginning of 2024 for 2999 euros.
Lenovo announced a series of new hardware products at the IFA trade show. The ThinkVision 27 3D stood out even more, both literally and figuratively. At first glance, this monitor looks like an average 27-inch 4K monitor, with a 60Hz refresh rate. Connections are provided for HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C, so you won’t be missing anything in this area.
But this monitor has something up its sleeve. The display can switch between 2D and 3D via the manufacturer’s built-in 3D Explorer software. The software “cuts” the screen in half and follows your eyes to reassemble the two halves of the screen into a 3D view, for which you don’t need special glasses. Marketing photos are provided Computer scientist A bit exaggerated, because the projections float neatly within the selected area of the screen.
In addition to compatible software, your computer must also meet the following hardware requirements to create the 3D effect:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 (7th generation or later)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
- Random access memory (RAM) of at least 16 GB
If you can tick off everything on this list, the Lenovo ThinkVision 27 3D will be available from February 2024 for a hefty price of €2,999 (including VAT).
