In the Qatari Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton achieved a very smooth victory, and according to him, it was also a “only” victory. With this victory he is also close to the battle for the world title.
Hamilton made a good start and had no problems during the race. Hamilton was told several drivers were having a tire problem, but other than that he was very lonely at the front.
“I can’t wait to watch the re-race and see what happened behind me,” Hamilton said afterwards at Park Fermi.
“I have no idea what happened to some of the drivers’ tires but I think it was the curbstone.”
Mercedes decided to put Hamilton on two stops and was therefore thankful that he survived any problems.
“The team did a good job with the car and the car parked,” Hamilton said. “It was very easy, he was lonely up front. Of course I enjoy the races where you have to fight really hard but we simply needed the points today.”
“I’m very grateful for the points. It’s a great year. But winning two races in a row at this point in the season is great. It feels great and puts us in a good position for the last two races of the season.”
