Frenchman Tom Vialli (KTM) won the Sardinia Motocross Grand Prix MX2 on Sunday. The world champion was the best in both series. He beat compatriot and World Cup leader Maxime Renault (Yamaha) and Dutchman Kai de Wolff (Husqvarna).
Jago Geerts (Yamaha) fell to the podium in fourth, after eighth and second in the series.
Liam Everts (KTM), son of ten-time world champion Stefan Everts, made his MX2 debut in Riola Sardo, Sardinia. It ranked thirteenth after sixteenth and eleventh.
“Great experience,” the talented said on Instagram. “I felt better in the second heat, but we had to start somewhere. We can build on that, and look forward to next year. This season I want to finish the European Championship well at the start.”
“It’s a beautiful day. We can’t expect more today,” said Stefan Everts, who saw his son score 15 points on his debut. The ten-times world champion scored himself… 0.
The Sardinian race was the tenth in the World Cup calendar. In the standings, Renault leads with 403 points, ahead of Italian Mattia Guadagnini (KTM), 11th on Sunday, and second in the standings with 332 points. Girts is in third place with 325 points.
