The photos show how the journalist and the officers are arguing with each other. Al-Kharouf reportedly urged the officers to calm down. It wasn’t good, and the officers became aggressive. Al-Kharouf suffered several serious blows and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment. A CNN producer witnessed the entire incident and was able to film it.
The officers are suspended
The Israeli border police chief issued a statement not long after. “The incident has been reported to Internal Affairs and will be investigated,” the response read. The officers involved have since been suspended.
Anatolia News Agency also responded to the incident. They say they will do everything in their power to hold those responsible accountable under international law.
