Thibaut Courtois (31 years old) is in the country again. The Real Madrid goalkeeper was in attendance in Genk this morning for the 'Elite Sport Goalkeeper Demo' day, where, in addition to several autographs, he also gave an update on his knee injury. “I can actually play goalkeeper a little bit, without really diving.”
look. Courtois: “We need another 4 to 5 months”
It's the first time we've seen Courtois since he pulled out of the European Championship, about which he did not answer any questions. The goalkeeper looked comfortable and spoke openly about his rehabilitation. “Everything is going well. I can actually play the goalkeeper role a little bit without actually diving. I can move well, run back and make passes,” Courtois said at the Football Shop Arena in Genk.
The Belgian goalkeeper has previously indicated that he will not be able to play in the European Championship, so there is still a long way to go. “In the end everything is going well. But from this point until we are in goal without any problems it will take another four to five months. Courtois describes his rehabilitation as the “biggest challenge” of his career.
More than a hundred young goalkeepers submitted a question for their role model, and ten of them were also allowed to ask Thibaut Courtois themselves. The goalkeeper also answered the question of what was the biggest disappointment in his career. “This is the Champions League lost in Lisbon. And because I've won it now, it's no longer a big setback. This will probably be the losing World Cup semi-final to France.
