After winning his world title earlier this year, Luca Brecel had already rewarded himself with a Ferrari, which cost him around half of his World Cup prize money. As of this week, he also owns a Ranger Rover and a Porsche Taycan.
“That suddenly made me no longer a millionaire,” the Belgian laughed after his first-round victory at the UK Championship. “I spent £400,000 on those cars and it was a well-considered decision.”
“I wanted to recreate the feeling I had at the beginning of my career, where I felt the same pressure to perform. I needed some encouragement, and the realization that it was time to get back to work.”
