The complaints index is based on the previous four quarters. The third quarter figures, a total of 1,252 second-line complaints, are now also included in the complaints index. In addition, VREG has also exceptionally updated complaint figures for the last quarter of 2022 and the first two quarters of 2023. According to VREG, the influx of complaints during the energy crisis led to delays in the processing of complaints by the Federal Ombudsman Service. The inclusion of these numbers in the new statistics therefore has an impact on complaints assessments.

The results decrease compared to the previous update, but there is also a positive development: for many suppliers, the number of complaints has decreased since the beginning of 2023. This indicates – according to VREG – that suppliers are now better able to meet the requirements and expectations of their customers than during the energy crisis. .
