A week ago, Apple released macOS Sonoma 14.6, which we thought would be the last update to macOS Sonoma until macOS Sequoia is released later this year. But that turns out not to be the case, as macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 is now available.
macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 is available
macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 fixes the iCloud Advanced Data Protection issue, also known as Advanced Data Protection. This feature provides end-to-end encryption for more different types of data stored in iCloud. Thus, it provides an additional layer of security, so that no one can access your data. There are different advantages and disadvantages to this feature.
Also available: macOS Ventura 13.6.9
Due to a bug, the feature couldn’t be enabled or disabled on your Mac. The same bug also played a role in macOS Ventura, which is why Apple released macOS Ventura 13.6.9 for older Macs. The release notes are the same there. For iPhone and iPad, there’s iOS 17.6.1, iPadOS 17.6.1, iOS 16.7.10, and iPadOS 16.7.10. The same issue has been resolved in all updates.
