The first weeks of 2022 may be difficult, but the Corona vaccine offers “real reasons for hope”. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron in his New Year message on Friday. ” 2022 may be the year we emerge from the pandemic.”

According to the French president, the booster vaccine will lift France from the current wave of Corona infections. So Macron urged his fellow countrymen from the Elysee gardens to get vaccinated against the highly contagious omikron variant of the coronavirus.
“I appeal to the 5 million unvaccinated: make this simple gesture to yourself, your compatriots and our country. All France is counting on you.” At the same time, Macron promised to “do everything in his power to keep the country active” and “avoid actions that affect our freedom.”
Macron gave another optimistic message in his speech. Despite all the challenges, France today is stronger than it was two years ago.
He cited, among other things, low unemployment figures and the purchasing power measures put in place by the French government in recent weeks. I am very optimistic, not only for 2022, but also in the coming years.
France will take over the interim presidency of the European Union from Slovenia from 1 January. “You can count on my full commitment,” the French president said. “I am convinced that the values of the European Union are the values we need to meet today’s challenges.”
France held presidential elections in April. Macron has yet to officially run for a second term, nor did he do so on Friday. “I will rule until the last day of the term for which I was elected,” he said. “Whatever my location or circumstances, I will continue to serve you.”
