Manchester City will face defending champion Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup next Saturday. Kevin De Bruyne could then get his first minutes of playing time in months. Meanwhile, there is once again a lot of speculation about the Belgian playmaker's future.
At the end of last season, De Bruyne suffered an injury during the Champions League final. As a result, he missed almost all of City's preparations. However, he played in the first matches of the season. However, that turned out to be not a wise move.
The turntable was hit again. He even had to undergo medical intervention, which kept him out of action for several months. But he is now training again and will usually return to competition in the coming days.
The Saudis are lurking
A return that City is looking forward to. De Bruyne is now 32 years old and will enter the final year of his contract next summer. Therefore, it is not unreasonable for there to be speculation about his future. In recent days, the Red Devil has once again been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Wealthy Saudis already showed interest last summer. The playmaker has been discontinued at the time, but Saudi interest is said to remain. Italian transfer inspector Rudi Galletti claimed this week that KDB will listen to their proposals after the season.
The premiere is on its way
However, fellow Turk Akram Connor, although not the most solid source, goes further. According to him, the Saudis want to make a first attempt this winter. They will consider an offer worth around €50 million to convince City. However, this does not seem to be enough to convince the England champion. Therefore a winter departure is not an option at the moment. And De Bruyne himself appears to have no intention of visiting elsewhere in January.
