A statue of Manneken Pis in Brussels on Saturday dressed up as “Dirc Saint-Tropez” from the famous films with French actor Louis de Funes.
This costume is a tribute to the actor, 40 years after the appearance of the last film in the series “Le Gendarme et les Gendarmettes”. Before the unveiling of the new Manneken Pis costume, there was a parade of characters referring to the movies.
“Le gendarme de Saint-Tropez” was the first film in the series in 1964. Louis de Funès plays Ludovic Cruchot, a gendarme who is transported to the French seaside resort of Saint-Tropez.
Belgian actor Pascal Duquen, known for films such as “Toto le héros” and “Le Huitième Jour”, was in Brussels on Saturday.
