For a long time we heard a rumor that the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens It will open with a shot of Luke Skywalker’s severed hand floating in space. Now it turns out that this was not a rumor, but simply the truth.
actor Mark Hamill He confirms that rumor. With that, we have the guy who, of course, can figure it out.
original plan
Originally it was meant to be Star Wars: The Force Awakens Luke’s severed hand bullet. In that hand we still see the lightsaber.
And it turned out to be true. It is not entirely clear how this hand ended up in space, nor is it clear why he continues to carry the lightsaber.
Interestingly enough, we’ll see the hand burning across the planet’s stratosphere. The flesh and bone of Luke’s hand will burn, but the lightsaber is burning across the planet.
Presumably the lightsaber would end up on planet Takodana at that point, and then in Maz Kanata’s chest.
Fact Check: True
As my hand thrusts through the stratosphere, flesh and bone burn and a lightsaber strikes the surface of an unnamed planet. Just imagine: If this sequence had been kept, I would have booked the inscription, plus screen time twice! #UltraTrivialTrivia 🥱 https://t.co/svXh9Xhhk9– Mark Hamill (Mar🐫) (HamilHimself) October 8, 2021
