general
Marjan was 32 years old at the time. I worked as an accountant in a medium-sized company. She has always enjoyed her work and it never seems to take much effort. She was also popular, both privately and at work.
Over the years, Marjan suffered from migraines often. The GP explained the headaches were a result of stress at work. Although she loved the work and the work atmosphere was good, Marjan still had an enormous workload.
Life in calmer waters: The migraines remained
Marjane was very happy because she met a nice partner. Peter was a colleague from a city 30 kilometers away. They had a great time together. But there was one thing that threw a wrench in the works. These were constant migraines. She and her doctor, along with her doctor, thought they would disappear as her life entered calmer waters after finding a kind partner. Unfortunately, the migraines did not go away.
Her doctor recommended medical acupuncture
Marjan's general practitioner read in a medical journal about scientific studies on the effectiveness of acupuncture for treating acute and chronic pain: that medical acupuncture can often help with pain complaints, including headaches and migraines. Marjan was advised to be treated by me.
The first treatments really helped
After the first medical acupuncture treatments, Marjan's migraines became less severe. Attacks also occurred less frequently. Then I treated her twice a week. We quickly switched to one treatment a week. Within three months, I felt much less stressed and was migraine-free.
Things continue to go well for Marjane
This was all years ago. Marjan comes in once or twice a year to do some “maintenance treatments.” She does this when she is upset by work pressure or other tensions again.
Fortunately, what happened to Marjane is no exception. The good thing is that medical acupuncture has no side effects and usually has an effect for a longer period of time.
