Italian singer Laura Bossini, Lebanese-British singer Mica and Italian TV personality Alessandro Cattelan will present the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin from May 10-14.
The announcement came at the Sanremo Festival. The three presenters gave the green light to the countdown to the song contest, which will take place in a hundred days.
“I believe in uniting people by tearing down the walls that separate us and celebrating what we have in common, but also what our differences are,” said Mica, who said he has watched Eurovision since childhood. “Once a year, more than 40 countries feel the same feelings, regardless of their history or political status.”
The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the most watched shows in the world with over 200 million viewers. “I am delighted that Eurovision is back in Italy and I am honored to present such an event,” said Laura Bossini.
Italy will host the 66th edition of the competition after the victory of Italian leather-clad rocker Maneskin in Rotterdam last year. This will be the third Italian edition, after Naples in 1965 and Rome in 1991.
For our country, it is the French-speaking channel RTBF that is responsible for entry. The choice fell already in the fall Jeremiah Makizziformer winner of The Voice Belgium.
