Michael J. Fox says he won’t live to be 80. The 61-year-old actor told CBS Sunday Morning. The actor suffers from Parkinson’s disease. “Every day it gets more difficult,” he said.
“I’m not going to live to be 80,” said Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991. In 2020, his symptoms, including muscle stiffness, forced him to stop acting. And living with the disease becomes more difficult over time, the Back to the Future actor continued. “It’s knocking on the door. I mean, I’m not going to lie. It’s hard… It’s getting tougher every day.”

The actor has also been involved in other health issues in recent years. βI had spinal surgery. I had a spinal tumor. And it was benign, but it made it difficult to walk. Then I started breaking things.β After spine surgery in 2018, he broke his arms, elbow, face, and hand.
He said Fox is thinking about his death and the time he has left. Falls pose a significant risk to Parkinson’s patients, he says, as well as choking on food and contracting pneumonia. βIt’s all subtle things that can get you. You don’t die of Parkinson’s disease. You die of Parkinson’s disease.β
