Milan suspended his contract with Alexis Saelemaekers. The Red Devil, who became a regular on Stefano Pioli’s squad, sees his good performances being rewarded in this way. He will register until 2026.
Saelemakers still had an agreement with the Rossoneri until mid-2024. He is now signing for two years. Coach Stefano Pioli has always used the Saelemaekers as a pawn since his move from Anderlecht to Milan at the end of January 2020.
The 22-year-old from Brussels has already made 64 official matches for Milan, in which he scored four times and provided ten assists. He participated in nine matches this season and provided assists.
Milan initially hired Saelemaekers from Anderlecht. A final transfer followed in the summer of 2020. The winger also became a red devil for the first time in the fall of 2020. He made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, Saelemaekers have already amassed five caps and scored his first goal against the Czech Republic (3-0 win) last month. The Saelemaekers were also part of national coach Roberto Martinez’s selection for their fourth Nations League final match last week. In the final consolation against Italy (loss 2-1), he played for an hour.
