On November 18, Emily Vansteenkiste will represent our country at the Miss Universe contest in El Salvador. We still have a week and a half to go, but Emily already left for the Central American country a few days ago. A busy schedule awaits her, with numerous rehearsals, opportune moments, jury interviews and daily excursions, with the election itself being the climax.
During the show, Emily will wear a costume that combines her character with a Belgian element. “I’m wearing a Latin dance dress, which is very emotional and personal,” she told Radio 2 in Flemish Brabant. “I dance a lot, and I also participate in competitions and I actually won competitions with this dress, so it’s good to be able to wear this dress.”
But her dress has a long train designed by Princess Delphine. “We wanted a costume that was both personal and Belgian at the same time, so that’s why we contacted her,” says Emily enthusiastically. “She was immediately involved in the story, and we didn’t even have to insist.” The result: The princess also got the heart print which she uses on her own outfit printed on the Miss Belgium train.
